Dear Wen: Flies…

P1240415Dear Wen…

Well, it would be nice to think we qualified as ‘Fools’ wouldn’t it…

It is probably not at all odd that we got a sudden rash of ‘Green Lions’…

We know time is psychological… ‘the watched pot..’ etc. but it does seem that we only have to regard the day as a vessel to realise that the more you pour into it the longer it lasts…

My use of the term ‘daddy’ in the circumstances may have been unfortunate, perhaps it should have been ‘the mummy stone’ except that somehow sounds Egyptian and we were clearly not in Egypt.

One of the stones near the entrance matched precisely the shape the light made. Could that have been accidental?

P1240430I can’t help thinking that the sight of thirty-thousand people at Avebury would be more than a little unsettling. The place is big enough and in all probability was built to accommodate such numbers but there is a difference and we touched upon it whilst we were there. The people now come as individuals. Nothing wrong with that in itself but most of them, if we are honest, are perhaps a little lost. And it may even be that it is their sense of individuality that is losing, or at least, confusing them. In the past people came with a shared focus and intent and were anything but lost…

The problem is we’re fighting a losing battle… the whole of the land was regarded as sacred and in what we would call ‘state’ control except that the state were a priesthood: a priest hood that derived its privileges from an understanding of the sacredness of the land and the mechanics of how that necessarily functioned. Now, we have the, for them, utterly alien notion of ‘private property’ and its correlative ‘fly-tipping’…

P1240421As an example of the power of social engineering for example we could try explaining to our average householder that their garden doesn’t actually belong to them…

At least they’re going to get a proper look at Marden.

Ah, the snout that snaffled a thousand sherberts…anigarden 006
