Seen and Unseen…

We see the other’s body clearly.

Lips move.

Eyes open and shut.

Lines of mouth and face oscillate.

The other’s body expresses itself as a being in action.

Yet the other, itself, remains unseen.

The other does not see its body in action.

If it looks in a mirror it immediately begins to invent itself.

The other, though, sees our body clearly.

Yet we to it, as it to us, remain unseen.

If our unseen sides could be seen,

we would live in a new world.

But we live in the seen world,

with its plethora of distinct misunderstandings.
