The Druids of Erin, so the story goes,
Long prophesied the coming of St Patrick.
They told it in this way…
*
There will come one, ‘crop-headed’,
Over a sea, ‘cruel-headed’,
Wearing his cloak, ‘cowl-headed’,
Carrying his staff, ‘crook-headed’,
The table in his house, west-lying
And all his folk to him, replying,
‘So be it, be it so…’
*
Love the rhyme and the picture too. It really does look like a Druid frozen in stone from that angle.
We have a lot of standing stones where I grew up in Dorset, they always fascinate me.

The circle, which is in Wales, is named for the stone. They are infinitely fascinating things… 😉
