By virtue of absorption in the Divine Source of Being,

the saint is able to exercise a non-coercive,

and hence, beneficient influence

on both individuals, and societies alike.

Because purged of selfness the Divine Reality

is able to utilise the saint, or avatar, as a channel of grace…

The biography of a saint, or avatar, is valuable,

therefore, because it throws light

on the way in which selfness or ‘the-I’ is purged

in order to make way for the ‘not-I’ or non-self of Divine Being.
