Soul Shot…

***

This phrase… Shot to pieces… Is important… But it is not an accurate description of what happened in the film… Where the android played by Jo Cass… Was simply shot by bullets fired from a gun a  number of times, and ‘died’… Or, since ‘she’ was an android… In the film they are called… Replicants… Ceased to function… A Replicant describes the outcome of a process… That many suspect is already now happening… So, where does this phrase come from?… It comes from the past… And it is cast… In the vernacular… It’s possible to be shot to pieces… Merely from the ravages of everyday life.

***

Such is the power of the vernacular… But what is shot… And what ends up in pieces?… We may hazard, the soul… Which would mean the vernacular… Recognises the human soul… Our current culture… It should be noted, does not… In traditional cultures… Which do still recognise the existence of the human soul… Having been diagnosed… Soul shot-to-pieces… The traditional healer would go in search of the shot-soul… This is known by some as… Soul Retrieval… But where would the healer go… To look for the shot-soul?… They would go to look for the shot-soul… In the spirit world…

***

Not because that is where the soul is to be found… But because the symbolic keys… To the salving of the soul… Are to be found there… A salve is a balm… Which when applied to the shot-soul… Makes it whole again… Souls are meant to be whole… That’s why those two words rhyme… Now, this is all very fine and groovy… But where is the spirit world… How does one get there… And how does one get back safely, and in one piece?… The spirit world is everywhere… One asks the way… And when you are done… The spirit world will allow you back out… Naturally, you will be in one piece.

We'd love to hear from you...
