El Dorado…

***

All this talk of Monkey… Gets us precisely… Nowhere… And brings to mind… Aguirre… On his raft… Of monkeys…  Our simian friends… Having replaced his conquistadors… During an expedition… In search of the legendary… City of Gold… As… One by one… The Amazonian jungle… Swallows them all up… What we think… We came here to learn… Or find… Is not necessarily… What we did come here to learn… Or, as Fad Gadget… Once famously… Instructed… Swallow it… Like the fool you are… There is though something instructive… About the monkey mind… Which we now need to consider.

We can set a trap… Of two nuts… To release one nut… And a trap of one nut… To release five nuts… And we can take our monkey… Through the release mechanisms… Of both traps… And their attendant rewards… But left to its own devices… It can never choose… The trap with one nut in it… Over the trap with two… Even though it plainly knows that… The one nut trap… Ultimately grants more reward… Why, we wonder?… What prevents the correct choice… We may want to put it this way… The animal instinct…  Overrides… The animal mind… Or, we may say… Monkey does not comprehend… Sacrifice!

In Monkey, the Tee Vee programme… This facet of the profane… Individual… Was cast… Into the form of ‘Pigsy’… Despite being a monster… And incredibly dense… When these kinds of situation… Arose, which… Throughout the course of the adventures… They invariably did… ‘Pigsy’ was an excessively sympathetic character… And one might even suspect… That if polls… Had been taken… He would have turned out to be… The people’s favourite… Even though… Monkey… Was clearly meant to be… The hero of the piece… Our least redeeming features… Are often… Also, our most endearing… But Why?

We'd love to hear from you...
