Monkey Jive…

***

The immortals in heaven… Try everything they can to kill Monkey… Believing him no more than… A Demon… Or as they put it… A Monkey on its way to being… Human… But nothing works… Because… Well, because… Monkey is immortal… Actually… Finally they resort to The Big Once-Man But Now Buddha… Himself… Gautama… Played in the Tee-Vee version… By a woman… Nice touch… Whom after proving that Monkey cannot out run his reach… Buries him under a mountain… Back on earth… Whilst he considers a fitting redemption… Enter, eventually, Tripitaka… On Tee-Vee, also played by a woman.

And a couple of monsters… Whom together… Set out on a pilgrimage… To India… For the sacred… Scrolls of the West… Our own sacred scrolls… Are in somewhat… Of a backwater… Alongside our stationary train of time… And memory… Somewhere in the seventies… Perhaps we could regard this as a mountain… Rather than a train of time… And keep an eye out for our fellow pilgrims… One will look like a fish… One will look like a pig… And one will look like a woman… Pretending to be a monk… But then again… Perhaps not… But midway through the seventies something irrepressible happened!

***

That something… Became known as… Punk Rock!… It lasted about three years… And then morphed… Into something else… Not quite as threatening… To the exceptionally… Easy to threaten authorities… New Wave!… Which also morphed… After a little while longer… Into something else again… Can you see how our figures… Of thought… Shadow… Our figures of form?… But we are getting ahead of ourselves… Our seminal band… which will allow us to elucidate all this… Shall be Vox-Ultra… Who in Seventy-Five still looked like hot house hippies… And were known as Tiger Lily… Their first release?…
