White Bone Demon…

***

Weirdly… Having been coerced… Back to the pilgrimage… Of our Monkey God… And his ensemble… Of once demonic companions… We are accosted by the White Bone Demon… Who it transpires lives on White Tiger Mountain… And attempts to ensnare our heroes… By first posing as an attractive young girl offering alms… Then her mother… And then her father… A generation of demons… As it were… All for the price of one… Monkey himself is away in search of peaches when the first assault is perpetrated… And it seems that neither Pigsy, nor Tripitaka are able to penetrate demonic disguise.

Although ostensibly present… Sandy plays no part in proceedings… Which suggests that this is an earlier adventure which takes place before his arrival… And has been re-packaged to fit his presence… This is potentially important… Because it may point to an ancient science of the demonic… Upon his return… Monkey has no problem identifying the demon… And wastes little time in attacking her with his magical staff… As mother and daughter… The demon is able to exit the shell of its disguise… Without harm… But as father… It is finally vanquished…. And leaves behind… Its labelled white bones.

This catapults us straight back to Blade Runner territory… Where the manufactured animals… All have microscopic patent numbers… Inscribed on each and every part of their anatomy… Is somebody in Ancient China… Manufacturing demons?… It would appear so… There is clearly a problem with the wheels of time… As we envisage them… They do not… It seems… Travel on and on… Indefinitely… But instead… Go around… And around… Just like the ground… In that infamous advertisement… For mints… Beware… Beware… The White Bone Demon… Posing as the lead singer of an Irish Rock Band!

We'd love to hear from you...
