and headed for Jotunheim.

He didn’t though fly to Grid’s homestead,
as he had promised Frigg he would…

…Instead he flew to Geirrod’s Garth
where he landed on a sky-light
and peered into the great hall.

Geirrod was there, feasting with two
of the Wave-Women, Gjalp and Greip, who were
each responsible for conceiving a ninth part of Lodurr.

This had been Loki’s plan from the get go.
***
***
He wanted a piece of those Wave-Women.
***
***
Geirrod saw the bird peering in at his sky-light
and sent Greip, the smaller of the two Wave-Women
out of the great hall to capture it.

Loki hopped from the sky-light
and onto the thatch of the roof
to evade Greip’s grasp.
***
***
When she climbed up on to the roof
Loki tried to take to the air again
but his pinions were caught fast in the thatch!
