Geirrod’s Tale…

***

Loki returned from the stream

and the two gods made their way

to the great hall of Geirrod’s Garth.

***

***

The hall had a line of linked furnaces

running down its length centrally.

***

***

At the far end of the hall stood Gerriod.

“Welcome gods,” he said with a smirk.

***

***

Then he picked up a fire bolt

with a pair of tongs, hurled it at Thor,

and stepped behind an iron roof support.

***

***

Thor caught the fiery bolt in Grid’s Iron gloves

and returned the favour.

***

***

The bolt passed through the iron pillar,

on through Gerriod’s mid-riff

and out through the wall

where it lodged in an earth bank,

 hissing and spitting.

***

***

Gerriod lay dead in the hall.

***

***

Thor set about his minions

turning their skulls to meal.
