A ‘torhouse’ is a tower-house,
or a hill-house or a ‘house-on-high’,
yet these stones are for the most part
dumpy and squat?…

Like most other sites the focus
of our attention forms only a small part
of the actual site which, in scale, is expansive.

There is what remains of a stone row,
now a line of three tall stones,
just over the road but as the rain,
which hitherto has descended in drips and drabs,
begins to come down in real earnest,
we decide to curtail our explorations.

Pity…

Later, it strikes me that
the ancient art of astrology has houses…
in the sky!
