Wishing

Home
Home

I close my eyes

And the wind in the trees

Sounds like the sea.

Valleys have held me too long

Smothered by manicured fields

And anonymous houses.

My soul craves the high place

Of childhood and memory;

Last year’s bracken

And tomorrow’s heather,

The chatter of a pure stream

And the graven rocks

Hanging from an iron sky.

And the sea..

Heart-beat of earth,

Mirroring the heavens,

Shifting like the wind

That sings in the trees.
