In sorrow’s depths hides a spark of Light,
Seemingly untouchable, unattainable.
Tears blind your eyes to it,
Pain blinds your heart,
Memory enshrouds you,
Pulling you down
Into the abyss.
Hold out your hand,
The light will not burn you,
Nor flee if you seize it.
It only grows in brightness
As you move towards it,
Warming your heart
With the hearth-fire glow,
Blending the shadows
On night’s canvas
Till the stars appear.
