On the walk back from Torrylin
we saw a red squirrel.
*
A rare grace
and a good omen,
though this little fella,
if fella it was,
declined the inevitable photo-shoot.
***
***
Somewhere in that little lot
is a stone circle…
***
***
That’s the outlier…
***
***
So, this must be the circle,
if four stones can ever be regarded a circle.
***
***
This stone looks as though it has had
enough of the encroaching bracken and gorse
and is about to take off for better climes.
***
***
Which is understandable.
*
Even from this angle it looks distinctly, floaty…
*
Maybe that’s how the stones get around?
It would explain a lot.
***
***
Lamlash.
I am reminded of the phenomenon of sailing stones. (I hurriedly looked up the term. Thanks Google.) It’s where stones of some large sizes managed to move across flat plains seemingly on their own, leaving a trail behind as evidence. Apparently it is believed to be caused by sheets of ice breaking up that causes the movement over time.
And while this isn’t precisely what you are describing, it is just my fun fact to share for the day.
