‘Texas Chainsaw Massacre’…

***

What a crap film!… Said Fee… It was a brave statement… In a room full… Of video nasty freaks… For the film in question… Was something of a Holy Grail… For such people… She was correct… But, well that was sort of the point… Or one of them… They were all crap films… Or at least… Most of them were… And one would be unlikely to ever see them at the cinema… The thing is… Although the statement is memorable… And Fee definitely said it… Time-wise… It is difficult to see how she could have said it! The hey-day of such events… Was well before Fee ever put in an appearance.

It is almost as incongruous… As Jo Cass’s presence… At Calder Road… Possibly, more so… Such incongruities… Are a constant source… Of perplexity… But having thought about it… For some time… There is an outside chance that it could have occurred… The day after the May-Day party… The problem is… There are very few people… Now left… Who could verify this… One way… Or the other… Although sick… The film does have some merits… Leather-face’s nonchalant approach to killing… Is one of the scariest things ever committed to film… And the closing escape one of the most heartfelt.

The words Texas… And massacre… Inevitably… Recall the assassination… Which occurred there twenty years before… This monstrosity… Was committed to celluloid… Given that another famous horror franchise… Riffed… On that event… It is tempting to see this film… Also in the… Same reflected… Green pall… The original Conspiracy Theory… Has now been proved… To be… A conspiracy!… All the shooters… And their accomplices… And all the money men… Have been identified… Even the body switch… Has been meticulously explained… Yet for many… It still remains… Just a crazy theory.
