Angus Og was the son of Boann, wife of Elkmar,
who lived together in a wonder-hill on the Boyne.

The Daghda wanted to sleep with Boann
so he sent Elkmar on a long errand
and made nine months seem like one day.

Angus was conceived, and born,
and fostered on Midyir.

His mother called him, ‘the young son’
for he was conceived after dawn
and born before sunset of the same day.

When taunted about his parentage
Angus was taken to see the Daghda, by Midyir, who
instructed him how to gain the wonder-hill on the Boyne from Elkmar.
