“…Those who waited with her, high on the hill had prepared her.
She had been bathed in the sacred spring that ran from the chalk below this place, winding as a clear stream into the valley.
There was a shallow pool beneath the trees.
She could not see it in the half-light, but she knew its course, and felt for it in her mind and body.
She had not eaten, only drunk of herbs steeped in its water for three days.
She was marked with ochre and dressed in a clean robe.
She heard them stand to greet the sun, but did not turn to the east with them.
She watched them through other senses, familiar with the rite, seeking to feel herself within the land and sky.
She saw her shadow on the grass as the sun rose, gilding the mists.
It was time.
Below the summit, where the flat plateau echoed the one so far away, a firebird wheeled and keened to the sun.
She wondered if it was her bird, the one whose feather she wore…
No matter.
They were kin and she would ask its help.
Sending thought into the air she sought the bird in her mind, feeling herself meld with its grace, letting the sensation of flight take her skimming the wind, feeling the swoop and rise in her stomach…”

THE INITIATE ~ HEART OF ALBION ~ GIANTS DANCE
Don and Wen, two founding members of a new Esoteric School, meet to explore an ancient sacred site, as a prelude to the School’s opening event.
The new School is based upon a psychological, nine-fold, system and operates under the aegis of the Hawk of Horus.
The trip does not unfold as planned.
Instead, Don and Wen, apparently guided by a plethora of birds, embark upon a journey that will lead them through a maze of spiritual symbolism, to magical mysteries and the elusive figure of the ‘Ninth Knight’.
The Initiate is the story of a journey beyond the realms of our accustomed normality.
It is a true story told in a fictional manner.
In just such a way did the Bards of old hide in the legends and deeds of folk heroes, the deeper truths of existence for those ‘with eyes to see and ears to hear’.
“From heart to head a lay, from head to heart the way…”
Now imagine that the lens of the camera captures a magical light in soft blues and misty greens and gold. A light that seems to have no cause in physical reality. What would you do? If you were open to the possibility of deeper realities, perhaps you would wish to explore this strange phenomenon… something two people came to know as ‘sacred chromatography’.
As the veils thin and waver, time shifts and the present is peopled with shadowy figures of the past, weaving their tales through a quest for understanding and opening wide the doors of perception…
That is quite the rock!

That eye…sends a shiver down my spine even though I’m as pragmatic as a rock myself. Makes me understand how earlier peoples would have viewed it.

It is in a very strange place too… where all the rocks seem frozen mid-dance.

Wow soring? Siri changed that last-minute. If I don’t type everything on my laptop, I swear. I type with two hands not thumbs on a phone! It’s so frustrating when stuff gets changed like that. Language literally goes out the window. Sorry, Sue. 🙄
