Don One…

Strange… How new routines… Are developed… So easily… And become…  Familiar… There must be something within us… That craves… The known… And something… Within us too… Which yearns for the Unknown… Experience… And reflection upon that… Experience… Grants… Gnosis… Eventually… The Demon that Pazuzu… Was protecting the children against was Ninlil… Which is the Babylonian form of Lilith… Adam’s ‘first wife’… Unable to get along with this fiercely independent spirit, Let alone live with her… She was banished… To the wilderness… Where she still sports… With creatures of the night.

The Babylonian reliefs… Picture her with flies wings… And talons… And have her flanked by owls… And lions… The Hebraic folk tales… Associate her with the screech owl… And hyenas… eldritch cacophony… In the night… But no swarms… Of anything… For the Vedic Indians… And later the Hindus… Lilith… Was Lila… Which just means… Play… Jay Kay… Brought… Illusions... To the party… It was for him… A stepping stone… That eventually led… To his religion… But it can be read… As something of a religion… In itself… The adventures of a reluctant Messiah… Blue feathers… And barn-storming in the mid-west…

***

It inculcated… A desire to fly… That book… And the Air Force badge… In dad’s drawer… Twenty-twenty… Vision required…  Back to Twenty-Twenty… Which did… In fact reveal… The weeds… In the harvest… And all those snakes… In the grass… The spineless… Jelly-fish… Masquerading… As men… It confirmed… A few others… And wiped out… A thousand-and-one industries… In one fell swoop… No more Journalism… Or sports… Or show-business… Or music… Music had been dead a long time… And films… Once in every ten years… A half decent film comes along… We know why… Now… Don’t we?
