Sleights of Tongue…

***

Like… Now then… The present in the past… And an inversion… Howz about that then?… The present in the past… Again… And another inversion… Are these phrases… Designed to confuse… Or bamboozle… Repeated often enough… Say, three times… Do they hypnotise?… The original inhabitants of Great Britain… The Britons… Lived for thousands of years on the chalk uplands… Which were the most densely populated… Tracts of land in the country… Right down to the fourteenth century… When the Black Death encouraged the Britons… Onto the now cleared… By the Saxons… More fertile lowlands.

Our current… But not quite sure how… Commissioner of the Met…. Is fond of referring to her employees… As guys ‘n’ gals… And believes they do a great job… Can’t think why… Shaz was a Whittaker… And everyone in her immediate family… Including herself… Were over six feet six… Did the original inhabitants of our sacred land consist of giants?… If they did… Eddie was the exception that proved the rule… For the Met… The murderous… Sexually deviant… Exceptions… Are proving to be the rule… Poor, Poor Cressy… If you’d only gone when you should have… You could have avoided all this.

***

The Black Death… By all accounts… Was a proper plague… Responsible for wiping out… A third… Possibly half… Of the then… Population… If contemporary sources can be trusted… Unlike the current effort… Which everyone finally agrees… Has been hyped… Out of all proportion… Principally… By the soon to be defunct media… And the soon to be jobless… Government advisors… They didn’t have either of these two parasitic… Occupations… In the fourteenth century… Just a real plague which killed people of all ages… And persuasions… That’s why they couldn’t risk a real pandemic… See?

We'd love to hear from you...
