‘The Ghoul Stone’…

Isle of Arran, Sunday, 30th October 2022

***

***

… Was once part of a circle of nine,

and that must have been an impressive sight.

***

***

Debris from the former circle

lies strewn around the site of this

fella’s now lonely vigil, if fella it is?

***

***

The destruction is usually attributed to

treasure-hunters and many

of the lumps and bumps in the ground

are also thought to be the now buried remains

of some of the stones.

***

***

Human fear and greed,

then as now,

has a lot to answer for.

***

***

Maybe ‘Ghoul Stone’ is not right after all?

***

***

Maybe it should be ‘Jewel Stone’?

***

***

Whatever the name

it is custodian

of an immense, untapped power!
