Nameless Horse…

***

There is an old injunction… That it is unwise… To tempt fate… One expression of which… The commentators curse… Is well known for changing the course… Of sporting events… Something akin to all this appears to be playing out on the world stage… And the authorities… Are doing everything they can to ignore it… And pretend that it is not happening at all… We have comedians cracking jokes and immediately collapsing… And celebrities… Some sporting… Some musical… Following their own advice to the public… And, ahem… Coming a cropper… To use another old phrase… From yesteryear.

Thrown into this mix… Was a strange event on the racetrack… Warnie, who recently succumbed to… A fatal heart episode… Was the part owner of a racehorse… And in the wake of his untimely demise… People were hopeful of a… Win for Warnie… When his horse next took to the track… His horse was named… Sacred Oath… And in its first outing it had come a close second… To a horse named… Call From Heaven… If any of this starts to seem suggestive… Of something… That something may be best kept… Under wraps… In its second outing… Sacred Oath… Unseated its rider… No win for Warnie!

The call… Of a lone gull… Bounces along… The breeze… After two days… In the desert sun… My skin began to turn red… And after three days… In the desert fun… I was looking at a river bed… And the story it told… Of a river that flowed.. Made me sad… To think it was dead… In the chamber… When the question was put… The chamber… Was practically empty… And immediately emptied further… But for the comedian… Turned president… The chamber was full… And his mangling… Of both the Bard… And the British Bulldog… Received… Another… Painfully protracted… Standing ovation… Blerrgh!

We'd love to hear from you...
